about
"I wrote the lyrics to Summer Rain after checking out Kenny’s recent demos from September 2017. I felt like the track evoked a scene where I was sitting in the back of a car on a rainy day as a kid, looking out at the landscape through the fog, and then tracing the rain drops as they trailed down the window. To me, Kenny’s instrumentals catch a meditative moment where one is looking inward and outward at the same time- a moment where trying to figure out what exactly is unfolding as we’re being carried from one place to another.
Summer Rain envisions what it’s going to be like in 3 years, or even 10 years from now, after we’ve already accumulated trauma (from the current presidential regime). I sadly feel that even when it’s over, it’s still going to take a long time for us to recover and to undo all of the damage that is currently being done. The lyrics touch upon wanting to be able to have a real fresh start, to be able to live without carrying the suffering from past times.
Thank you Kenny, for allowing me to share my thoughts with you, and for being there for me and with me. <3" - Marina Murayama Nir
Crumbling landscape sweeps away
Spirits shattered by your name
Cells disperse, we start to fade
Lingering tastes in summer rain
Water cleanse me while I wait
Translucent image softly sways
In the end what will remain?
Lingering tastes in summer rain

Honestly the most complete, fully realized rock album I've ever heard. Joyful, chaotic, fuzzy pop with dark, brutally honest lyrics. Made by an incredible person. Gender Work
